Canada Day
Canada Day Celebrations!
An annual event which occurs on July first is the Canada Day
Celebrations. People gather along the water front to watch the
fireworks display. The fireworks being around 10:00pm from the basin
of the Sydenham River. Be prepared to arrive early to get a prime
spot to watch the fireworks display. Wallaceburg is one of the few towns
which has Canada Day fireworks.
The first weekend in July Wallaceburg hosts another annual event called
Grande Olde Days. For two days there are sidewalk sales and
entertainment downtown. On the Saturday at high noon there is a
tug-o-war which takes place across the river. The event can be viewed
from behind the Library and Legion. Grande Olde Days wraps up at
4:00pm on Saturday with the championship pull. There is talk of making Grande
Olde days a larger event which will include more entertainment and buskers downtown.
